About The Position

As a Senior Accounting Specialist at Uplinq, you’ll serve as the accounting lead for a portfolio of complex clients. You’ll handle advanced accounting tasks, build and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), and serve as a quality reviewer and mentor for junior Accounting Specialists. This role requires strong technical skills, judgment, and the ability to lead client conversations confidently.

Requirements

5+ years of small business or firm-based accounting experience
Advanced Knowledge in QuickBooks Online
Strong knowledge of full-cycle accrual accounting and GAAP principles
Experience with job costing, inventory, and class/location reporting
Skilled in managing third-party integrations
Documentation and workflow mapping abilities
Confident communicator who can lead client meetings and explain financials clearly

Responsibilities

Own month-end close and financial reporting for complex client accounts using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Uplinq’s proprietary accounting system.
Prepare and document advanced journal entries.
Handle job costing, inventory tracking, and class/location-based reporting as needed.
Manage and troubleshoot third-party integrations.
Build and maintain client-specific SOPs, documentation, and QBO workflows.
Serve as the main point of contact for clients—leading calls, owning relationships, and resolving escalations.
Review junior team members’ work and provide clear, constructive feedback.
