About The Position

As a Sr. Accountant at FMH, you will assist in the development and execution of the Accounting strategic plan by working with business partners, management, and Accounting staff. This role focuses on financial statement preparation, complex account reconciliation work/journal entries, management of vendor/investment relationships, budget & expense reporting, and assisting with audits & tax work/entries.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5 or more years of private accounting or 3 or more years of public accounting experience required.
  • Education: Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel. Experience with accounting software systems required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares regulatory financial reporting and ensures reports are completed by the appropriate deadlines.
  • Responsible for the preparation, reconciliation, and distribution of monthly budget reporting to budget managers and the Executive Committee.
  • Manages the annual budget process, ensuring consistency across departments and timely responses to compile the budget in a timely manner.
  • Assists in monthly journal entry coding and reconciliation of major accounts. Investigates and resolves any issues that arise.
  • Assists in management of the ERM program.
  • Reviews the Accounts Payable process ensuring timely payment, proper coding, and reconciliation of all expenses.
  • Assists in the analysis and preparation of reports for Management Committees and Board of Directors.
  • Assists with the preparation for audits by compiling audit-related requests and responding to audit questions.
  • Supervises month-end, quarterly, yearend close, reconciliation processes and ensures they are completed by the appropriate deadlines.
