Position Summary MDVIP is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate is a strong analytical thinker with a deep understanding of accounting principles, exceptional accuracy, and the ability to manage complex financial processes with minimal oversight. This role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting, improving internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization. This position would heavily focus on compiling and analyzing financial information during month-end close process and assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements. This role reports to the Assistant Controller. Requirements

  • Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end month-end close cycle, including pre-close planning, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliations
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet tight close deadlines
  • Experience with complex accruals, deferrals, intercompany transactions, and eliminations
  • Expert at identifying, investigating, and resolving discrepancies and variances in accounts and supporting Finance leadership with trend analysis
  • Skilled in developing, implementing, and optimizing close checklists, calendars, and process documentation
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from four-year College or university and at least six years related business experience; public accounting experience or work at a public company with SEC reporting experience highly desired.
  • Related experience assumes a similar corporate role with progressive record of career growth.
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to details and organizational skills to produce accurate and timely output.
  • Ability to work independently, establish priorities and manage objectives with little supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with preparation of reports which summarize company business activity and financial position.
  • Maintains adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Partners with finance leadership in the review of the accounting close process, including analytical review of the monthly operating results, to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.
  • Assist in preparation of supporting schedules as a part of the annual audit.
  • Cooperates with external auditors and tax advisors and provides audit support to auditors as required.
  • Supports Finance Leadership with ad hoc project requests as needed
