About The Position

The Sr. Accountant Treasury ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of the company's financial transactions and cash disbursements, including wire transfers for both USD and CAD operations and automated clearing house (ACH) payments. This position manages the operating budget development process, provides financial guidance to plant and departmental leaders, and ensures adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) standards in all reporting and reconciliation activities. The position participates in the monthly and annual financial close processes and supports continuous improvement of accounting and financial control procedures across the organization.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  • Minimum 4 Year - Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 Years of Experience in progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing or multi-site environment. Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
  • Advance knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles and financial reporting requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial/statistical data to provide actionable insight
  • Ability to use a personal computer (PC) and accounting software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy
  • Proficient in effective written English, verbal communication, and listening skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Prepares and coordinates the company's annual operating budget process, ensuring accurate data consolidation and timely completion.
  • Facilitates budget review meetings with plant and department managers to validate assumptions and provide analytical insights.
  • Serves as a financial partner to department and plant leaders, guiding them on budgetary compliance, cost management and forecasting.
  • Conducts production cost variance analyses, investigates significant deviations and recommends corrective actions.
  • Develops, maintains and enhances budget models and analytical tools to improve forecasting accuracy and management reporting
  • Participate in monthly and annual accounting close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Manages daily cash distribution activities including wire transfer and ACH payment.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable team to resolve payment discrepancies and ensure timely vendor settlement
  • Monitors daily cash positions, maintains sufficient liquidity and assists in cash forecasting and treasury reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance system efficiencies
  • Supports internal and external audit requirements through document preparation and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Recommend improvements to internal controls, financial policies and accounting systems.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
