About The Position

Stage Front is a technology leader in the event ticket sales industry, providing cutting-edge tools and services for end-to-end ticket lifecycle management. With over 40 years of industry expertise, we continue to develop innovative solutions that empower our users and drive the industry forward. We are seeking a SQL Server Database Engineer to support and operate our QA and production database environments in partnership with engineering and infrastructure teams. This role focuses on SQL Server administration, performance tuning, monitoring, and operational reliability. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on SQL Server experience, enjoys troubleshooting and optimization, and is comfortable supporting production systems with support from senior engineering team members. This is a hybrid role, primarily remote, with one in-office day per week. The position follows a standard Monday-Friday schedule with occasional on-call coverage as part of a shared rotation.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience supporting SQL Server in a production environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (on-prem and/or Azure).
  • Proficiency with T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query tuning.
  • Experience with database monitoring, maintenance, and incident support.
  • Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery concepts (e.g., AlwaysOn).
  • Exposure to scripting or automation (PowerShell or similar).
  • Understanding of database security and access controls.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Perform routine maintenance, patching, upgrades, and configuration updates.
  • Analyze and tune queries, indexes, and stored procedures to ensure reliable performance.
  • Monitor database health, job execution, and performance trends; respond to alerts and incidents.
  • Support existing high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
  • Participate in scheduled failover and disaster recovery testing.
  • Work closely with application engineers to review schema changes and optimize queries.
  • Assist with database deployments and CI/CD processes.
  • Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Gain exposure to Snowflake and MongoDB environments as needed.
