About The Position

Scheduled days are on a rotating basis, with every other weekend off. There is an expectation that the selected candidate will respond to phone calls and text messages from employees while off duty Preferred Skills: Good organizational and computer skills. Experience with surveillance systems Ability to interact positively with team members and provide motivation to accomplish goals. Job Summary: Responsible for leadership and oversight within Security Services operations. This includes, but is not limited to, managing crisis situations, personnel, financials, and fostering an environment highly supportive of safety, teamwork, and superior service.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
  • Four years' experience
  • Following extension of a conditional offer of employment, applicant must successfully complete a psychological assessment to confirm suitability for the rigors of providing security services as set forth in this job description.
  • Successful completion of SSM’s internal armed officer program is required prior to working as an armed security officer.
  • Proof of motor vehicle liability insurance that meets minimum state requirements upon hire and upon request.
  • Constant use of hearing to receive oral communication and hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Constant use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more).
  • Constant lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent use of speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, twisting and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a deterrent and responds to extreme acts of violence and threats involving dangerous weapons.
  • Trains, coaches, encourages, teaches, and mentors staff to achieve superior team results.
  • Completes scheduling, computer administration duties, monitors team reports, statistics, and employee performance evaluations.
  • Develops statistical reports, summaries, and other reports to monitor department activities and develops a proactive approach to identifying safety and security hazards by communicating with clinical staff and leadership.
  • Attends work group meetings, staff meetings, and participates on committees, as assigned.
  • Champions diversity by demonstrating respect, encouraging learning, and proactively supporting diversity in team building and customer interactions by emphasizing service excellence and leading by example, to ensure superior customer service and hospitality.
  • Assists in leading incident debriefings with staff after critical incidents and conducts follow-up support actions with affected staff.
  • Conducts investigations of various matters and complaints.
  • Completes reports, follows up on investigations or assigns to others in a timely manner, and ensures follow through and proper communication occur.
  • Ensures compliance with regular Life Safety, elopement, infant abduction, and fire alarm testing.
  • Works to ensure Parking Services equipment, cash register, and related systems function properly.
  • Acts to ensure all shift duties and operations are assigned and completed and Implements strategy in the absence of the Security Manager and acts as designee.
  • May operate motor vehicle to patrol.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
