Requirements

Fire Protection Engineering Technology Diploma in Fire Protection Engineering Technology plus 6 months of experience as a Sprinkler Designer or a related occupation

Responsibilities

Design the following 2D and 3D Fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, all applicable NFPA standards and local codes: new construction, mixed use buildings, standpipe systems, fire pumps.
Coordinate sprinkler system design using 3D modeling in new and existing structures with architects and other MEP trades.
Assist design trainees with field surveys to verify existing conditions, and perform field surveys throughout construction to ensure accurate installation of projects.
Prepare shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material submittals for review by Architects, Engineers and Authority Having Jurisdiction.
Compile stock lists and material requisitions for the installation of Fire Sprinkler systems along with installation prints.
