About The Position

Are you passionate about human space exploration, understanding the origins of the universe, and working with a passionate and diverse team to make a difference? If you are, we need you! We need your talent, teamwork, and energy to help us achieve great things that inspire people all over the globe. We need you to bring creative ideas and diverse backgrounds to help us envision, shape, and deliver systems that will enable the exploration of space while benefiting people here on Earth. We are excited about what we do, and we need you on our team as we take on exciting challenges for NASA’s pursuits in deep space exploration. As NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider working together with NASA at centers across the United States. We are seeking a Spring 2026 Internship - AI and Astronaut Physiology to join the Human works Lab, with a focus on Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence. The selected intern will support the development of AI and machine learning models designed to enhance NASA's understanding of the human body in space. This work will contribute to the optimization of fitness and conditioning systems, as well as overall astronaut well-being. The lab possesses a substantial repository of data to support the development of AI and machine learning models. During this internship, the focus will be on exploratory data analysis, data provenance, and data curation—including the identification and handling of outliers—to produce clean, well-organized, and reliable datasets. These efforts are essential to facilitate the development of robust models and to support more accurate forecasting and protocol design aimed at sustaining physical and psychological performance in long-duration space missions. This is a temporary role not to exceed 12 weeks.
