Requirements

• Must be at least 23 years of age
• Bachelor degree required; Masters degree preferred
• 5 years or more working with youth in an organized sports setting and 3+ years of proven experience in staff development, supervision, and training
• Passion for social justice and knowledge of the Bayview Hunters Point community, its residents, and a desire to make a difference
• A commitment to providing young people with the highest-quality youth development experience
• Must be knowledgeable about youth development program design and planning, administration and evaluation, child abuse reporting laws, After School standards, as well as knowledge and awareness of a wide variety of out of school activities
• Must be a talented multi-tasker and an independent worker who is adept at working on a team, thrives in a start-up environment, and maintains a flexible and positive attitude
• Must have the ability to develop positive relationships with youth, adults, parents, staff, teachers, administration, the Y and community members.
• Must be able to work independently, have consistent follow through and demonstrate good judgment
• Must know how to grow, motivate, and maintain a strong new team
• Experience working with middle school and high school students in an urban area
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-project/multi-task oriented, including experience scheduling and coordinating multiple fun and education-focused activities for youth
• Team player with proven ability to work with people from a variety of different ethnic, socio economic, educational, religious, sexual and generational backgrounds
• Fingerprint background check clearance
• TB Test clearance within last 2 years

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years of budget management experience
• Master’s degree in related field
• Bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Tagalog
