About The Position

TRIA is looking to hire a Sports Medicine Fellow to join their Research and Education team. The fellow will participate as a team member in the provision of medical and health care, interacting with professional colleagues under the direction of the Fellowship Faculty to provide comprehensive care and service. The Orthopedic Surgery Sports Medicine Fellowship is a one-year ACGME accredited program. It encompasses the evaluation and treatment of patients and athletes of all levels of sport, from adolescent and recreational to club, collegiate, and professional athletes. In addition to clinical responsibilities, direct patient evaluation, care, and surgery, the Fellow will be expected to complete at least one clinical research project. The Fellow will participate in weekly Sports Medicine Academic Conferences and will also be personally involved in major high school athletic program(s). All aspects of open reconstructive and arthroscopic surgery are integral facets of the Fellowship.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical or Osteopathic School
  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program
  • Credentialing, following the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) guidelines
  • Maintain an unlimited or unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Minnesota through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
  • Maintain DEA certificate
  • Strong technical competence
  • Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
  • Proven proficiency in the operation of Telephone, Dictation Devices, CRT, Personal Computer, Printer, and Photocopier
  • Proven proficiency in operation of all equipment used in the direct care and treatment of patients in the orthopedic specialty
