About The Position

The Sports Facility Trainer is responsible for providing high-quality individual and group instruction to athletes of all ages and skill levels. This role focuses on developing player skills, improving performance, and fostering a positive training environment. The trainer will also support the overall operations of the sports facility by assisting with clinics, camps, equipment setup, and customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Administration, Business Administration, Management, Physical Education or related field from an accredited college or university. (5+ years of experience may be considered in lieu of education)
  • Certification from NSCA, NASM or equivalent strength and conditioning organization or a strong background (or willing to get certified within 6 months upon hire)
  • Experience working with baseball athletes at amateur, collegiate, or professional levels
  • Specialized interest in: pitching, hitting, fielding, and/or position specific
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to motivate and mentor
  • Customer service skills, including greeting, assisting, handling inquiries, and resolving concerns.
  • Organizational skills to maintain clean, orderly equipment and training areas.
  • Ability to demonstrate correct athletic movements, drills, and training techniques.
  • Ability to engage positively and professionally with youth athletes and families.
  • Ability to teach consistent, safe coaching methods and training standards.
  • Ability to follow instructions and also work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to move freely in an active training environment and lift/move equipment (up to approx. 50 lbs).
  • Ability to remain proactive, observant, and attentive to facility conditions and safety needs.
  • Knowledge of baseball and/or fast pitch softball rules, terminology, positions, and gameplay.
  • Understanding of standard training equipment (tees, balls, nets, pitching machines, protective gear, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of biomechanics, sports performance testing and injury prevention
  • Familiarity with customer service practices and front-facing service etiquette.
  • General understanding of cleaning standards and routine maintenance procedures.
  • Evening and weekend availability will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group lessons focused on hitting, pitching, fielding, and sports-specific fundamentals.
  • Create customized training plans that address technique, mechanics, conditioning, and performance plans.
  • Demonstrate proper form and safety during all drills and sessions.
  • Provide athletes with constructive feedback and progress updates.
  • Lead skill-development camps, clinics, and team training sessions as assigned.
  • Assess athlete performance levels and identify areas for improvement
  • Track athlete progress and adjust training plans accordingly.
  • Motivate athletes and promote a positive, growth-oriented environment.
  • Educate Athletes and parents on training expectations, practice habits, and injury-prevention basics.
  • Assist with setup, breakdown, and maintenance of training spaces and equipment.
  • Ensure Facility safety standards are upheld at all times.
  • Support program promotion by participating in events, outreach, and daily operations
  • Maintain accurate schedules, attendance records, and lesson documentation.
  • Provide excellent customer service to athletes, parents, and visitors.
  • Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time.
  • Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities.
