About The Position

As we continue to elevate our Sports Club experience, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to support our Wellness operations. This role offers the opportunity to lead, inspire, and deliver exceptional service within one of Northeast Florida’s premier luxury destinations. Position Summary This role supports the Executive Director of Wellness in directing the daily operations of the Fitness Center. The focus is on delivering exceptional member and guest experiences, maintaining the highest quality and cleanliness standards, and driving revenue performance. Responsibilities include onboarding new members through the Technogym app, conducting health assessments, and supporting all areas of the operation as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred in a fitness-related field.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English with members, guests, and colleagues.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a professional fitness center environment
  • Experience across multiple areas including aerobics, aquatics, fitness center operations, front desk, and nursery
  • CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications required
  • Nationally recognized fitness instructor certification required
  • Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Comprehensive understanding of fitness center operations, including aquatics, group fitness, programming (including special populations), and special events
  • Proficiency with fitness equipment and safety protocols
  • Experience with member relations, vendor partnerships, team leadership, and budgeting
  • Ability to demonstrate proper use of all fitness equipment and exercises
  • Capable of instructing and participating in fitness activities
  • Ability to remain on feet and active for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Arrive on time in proper, professional uniform
  • Attend all required training, meetings, and safety courses
  • Identify and address safety hazards, ensuring a safe environment
  • Uphold exceptional standards of cleanliness and presentation across all fitness and aquatics areas
  • Foster a culture of service excellence, professionalism, and engagement
  • Build strong relationships by interacting with members and guests regularly
  • Ensure compliance with all membership rules, policies, and procedures
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and develop team members across fitness, aquatics, and recreation areas
  • Conduct performance evaluations and lead daily pre-shift meetings
  • Oversee staff scheduling to optimize service levels and control labor costs
  • Maintain inventory, manage supplies, and monitor departmental budgets
  • Utilize inventory data to impact and manage departmental financial performance
  • Maintain high sanitation and safety standards through team training and accountability
  • Circulate through all areas during peak hours to coach, support, and elevate service delivery
  • Partner with leadership in bi-weekly meetings to review departmental performance
  • Support Club-wide initiatives to protect and enhance the Ponte Vedra brand
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Wellness
