About The Position

The OSP Redline & As-Built Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records of all redlines, as-builts, and splicing documentation for fiber network projects. This role ensures that all field updates, design changes, and splicing records are captured, verified, and properly integrated into GIS and OSP documentation systems. The specialist serves as the bridge between the field construction team, design engineers, and GIS staff to ensure network data integrity and compliance with company standards.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in fiber splicing, OSP construction, or OSP documentation.
  • Experience with OSP design software such as ArcGIS, and AutoCAD
  • Understanding of fiber optic splicing, network architecture (FTTH, backbone, distribution), and OSP terminology.
  • Familiar with reading and interpreting construction drawings, splice schematics, and fiber assignment sheets.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe tools.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ISP or telecom construction environments.
  • Familiarity with PON (GPON/XGS-PON) networks and OLT/FDH configurations.
  • Prior field splicing experience or background in OSP design QC.

Responsibilities

  • Review, update, and maintain redline drawings to reflect field changes during construction.
  • Create and finalize as-built documentation upon project completion, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collect, organize, and document splicing information from field splicers, including fiber assignments, splice diagrams.
  • Collaborate with design engineers and field teams to reconcile discrepancies between design and field conditions.
  • Verify splicing documentation aligns with network design and routing plans.
  • Generate deliverables for internal and external stakeholders, including final map packages and splicing records.
  • Maintain document version control and ensure all project documentation meets company and client standards.
  • Support the Quality Control (QC) process for as-built submissions.
  • Assist in developing and improving documentation standards and workflows.
