About The Position

Primary duties and responsibilities : Spritual Health Fellow participates as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team providing spiritual care to patients and families in medical specialties where chronic illness and pain are evident such as Winship Cancer, Palliative Care, Staff Support, Critical Care and Brain Health. Participates in research agenda. Participates in continuous collaboration with educators, team members and other health care professionals to promote environment of care, healing and professional development. CCSH Fellows are expected to engage in the learning and practice of CBCT, develop a personalized certification pathway, and to learn and implement the CCSH interventional approach through individual study, clinical practice and group work. Understands and complies with Spiritual Health policies, and applicable Emory Healthcare policies. For majority, the goal would be to become a registered CCSH interventionist through Spiritual Health at Emory Healthcare and Emory's collaboration with the Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics at Emory, not through ACPE. This is a time limited position for two years. Positions will be located at Emory Decatur Hospital and Emory Winship Cancer Institute.

Requirements

  • Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education in a program credentialed by ACPE.
  • MDiv or other Master's degree in theology or proof of board eligibility by Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) or its strategic partners (NAJC, NACC, CASC/ACSS).

  • Ordination, license or endorsement by an acknowledged ecclesiastical body or specialized spiritual/philosophical/religious group preferred.
