About The Position

Performs a variety of duties related to poultry processing, including working with live or raw chicken products. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, handling and processing poultry products, deboning, cutting, packing, weighing, moving, and inspecting materials. Employees may be assigned additional duties as directed by supervision based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure pallet jacks are clean from the prior shift and complete pre-operational equipment inspections.
  • Weigh products using floor scales and print/apply appropriate labels.
  • Secure products on pallets using stretch wrap.
  • Move finished product to designated storage or shipping areas.
  • Stock production lines with required PPE and handwashing supplies.
  • Conduct temperature checks throughout the manufacturing area.
  • Verify product seals are accurate and match production screen specifications.
  • Operate and maintain basic production equipment.
  • Maintain Lockout/Tagout certification and follow all established Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Inspect and calibrate equipment prior to use and between breakdowns.
  • Coordinate with leads to follow production schedules and ensure accurate work-in-progress (WIP).
  • Follow product mix formulas based on established recipes.
  • Accurately calculate ingredient weights to achieve proper product blends.
  • Ensure all ingredients meet correct code dates and Quality Assurance (QA) requirements for temperature and consistency.
  • Collaborate with QA to obtain the correct water/phage mix as required.
  • Use safety scissors or knives to open ingredients safely.
  • Operate scales and ensure all finished buggies/bins are properly labeled and covered.
  • Move and store finished buggies/bins in designated areas or deliver to production lines as needed.
  • Identify and report product downgrades, contamination, or foreign material.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work in different departments or positions as production and staffing needs require.
  • Work in varying environmental conditions, including hot, cold, wet, and noisy environments.
  • Safely work around industrial equipment and perform physical tasks including prolonged standing, repetitive hand/arm movement, and lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 40 pounds.
