Unit specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders. Speech-language pathologists work with patients of all ages who experience difficulties due to neurological conditions, injuries, developmental disorders, or medical treatments. The Speech Language Pathologist shall plan and implement specific treatment programs for individual patients and patient groups according to the principles and practices of speech therapy. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including evaluate and treat patients; maintain communication with doctors and other health personnel; and supervise volunteers and students. The Speech Language Pathologist will assist with education for the speech therapy staff, hospital staff, and community at large as needed.
