About The Position

Pediatric speech therapist position working with a dynamic multidisciplinary team, in outpatient and inpatient settings. With experience, opportunities may be available in specialty areas, including NICU. Seeking a team-player with excellent communication skills, strong evidence-based practice, caring attitude towards all patients and their families, and effective time management / organization skills.

Requirements

• Education required: Master’s Degree from an Accredited Institution in the area of Speech Therapy/Communication Disorders required.
• License, certification and/or registration: ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology, or eligible to begin CFY with successful completion of nation exam required. Alabama license in Speech Pathology or applicant with licensure pending CFY completion required. Must receive BCLS certification within orientation period.
• Experience: Prefer pediatric experience with speech/language/swallowing/feeding disorders.
• Additional skills/abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability and willingness to work with all patients in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Training/experience for participation in Modified Barium Swallows

Responsibilities

• Evaluations, re-evaluations and ongoing direct patient care with children from birth to 18 years
• Management of a highly diverse caseload including treatment of language, articulation, cognitive, feeding and swallowing disorders
• Coordination of care with other providers
