About The Position

Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) Reports To Regional/District Rehab Director or Facility Administrator Job Summary Leads and manages rehab department, ensuring compliance with regulations, supervising therapy staff, and maintaining patient care quality. Speech Therapist (ST) Reports To Director of Rehabilitation Job Summary Diagnoses and treats patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Develops therapy plans to maximize communication and swallowing safety.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as OT, PT, or ST.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and rehab regulations.
  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current state license.
  • A current state license in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or Speech Therapy is required and must be maintained in good standing.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare requirements and rehabilitation regulations is required.
  • A Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program is required.
  • A current state license to practice as a Speech Therapist is required and must be maintained in good standing.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • At least one year of supervisory or management experience in a rehabilitation or long-term care setting is preferred.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA when eligible.
  • At least one year of clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and supervision of therapy staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, company, and state regulations.
  • Monitor performance, documentation, and productivity.
  • Serve as liaison with leadership and families.
  • Provide direct clinical care as appropriate.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations of speech, language, swallowing.
  • Develop and implement therapy plans.
  • Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
