Requirements

  • MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders from an accredited graduate school.
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None.
  • MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: Licensure by the Georgia Board of Examiners of Speech/Language Pathology. BLS certification through AHA or ACR.

Responsibilities

  • Provides speech-language pathology services under the mentorship of a speech-language pathologist by coordinating consultations and diagnostic evaluations with patients having known or suspected communication disorders and/or oropharyngeal dysphagia
  • Interpreting assessment data
  • Planning and performing speech-language pathology treatment intervention programs when appropriate that restore function, prevent disability and help patients reach maximum potential.
  • Provides patient care to all age groups to include neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric.
  • Responsible for the supervision of rehabilitation technicians, students, and observers.
  • May be responsible for orientation and ongoing guidance of assigned staff.
