As a per diem Speech Language Pathologist in Acute Therapy at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ca, you will have comprehensive knowledge of assessment and intervention techniques in a medical physical disabilities setting. What will you be doing? Perform evaluations Demonstrate appropriate treatment interventions and strategies Complete discharge planning for patients Knowledge and experience with bedside swallow evaluations and cognitive/communication evaluations The Therapist-Per Diem is considered employed on an at-will basis with no guarantee of scheduled hours. Scheduling is done based on staffing need and availability. The Therapist-Per Diem staff member is expected to be available a minimum of 16 hours per month.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited SLP program
  • Valid and current license as a SLP in the state of California
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Able to push, pull, lift or carry 0-35 pounds on an intermittent basis
  • Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat consistently in order to safely administer manual exercises and techniques
  • Able to assist patient with physical activities such as transfers, bed mobility, and ambulation.
  • Able to identify need for an arrange assistance to maintain safe techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a practicing therapist; preferably in an acute care setting.
  • Experience working with the electronic health record preferred.
