About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, a Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for the screening, evaluation, development, and implementation of the speech language-related provisions of the educational program for students identified as eligible for these services.

Responsibilities

• Administer and/ or evaluate hearing or speech and language test results, barium swallow results, or medical or background information to diagnose and plan treatment.
• Provide augmentative and alternative communication (ACC) systems for individuals with severe expressive and/or language comprehension disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder or progressive neurological disorders.
• Provide direct and consultative therapeutic services related to expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language.
• Compile results into comprehensive written reports which reflect strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational environment.
• Develop and/or implement speech language-based intervention plans for student needs and evaluation results such as stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorders, or inappropriate pitch or harsh voice problems.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines offers recommendations and develop individual education plans (IEP) and intervention plans to achieve student goals.
• Provide targeted, evidence based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and performance within the school environment.
