Duke Health Integrated Practice Duke Health Integrated Practice comprises more than 110 primary and specialty outpatient clinics, extending the reach of Duke Health's mission across the state of North Carolina. JOB SUMMARY The speech-language pathologist specializing in voice and upper airway disorders is responsible for the comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with complex laryngeal and respiratory conditions. This role requires clinical expertise in behavioral voice therapy and respiratory retraining techniques, as well as proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as videolaryngostroboscopy. The clinician collaborates closely with laryngologists and other interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. The position demands strong communication and interpersonal skills, clinical documentation accuracy & efficiency, and a commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by ASHA
  • NC License in Speech Language Pathology issued by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists
  • Temporary License in Speech Language Pathology issued by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists

Nice To Haves

  • Previous medical setting experience preferred, although other relevant clinical experience considered.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation and treatment of voice and upper airway disorders
  • Accurate & thorough documentation and billing of clinical services
  • Complete workflows related to patient care (e.g., insurance requests, etc.)
  • Maintain required licensure, trainings, as required by Duke, JCAHO, & other governing bodies
  • Participate in staff meetings, attend/complete CEUs as required by ASHA & NC
  • Collaboration with laryngologists and other providers on treatment plans
