About The Position

The speech and language pathologist is the professional primarily responsible for the speech and language services for students with communication disorders between the ages of birth through 26. This includes evaluation of students with suspected or identified communication disorders, and the development, management, and coordination of a speech and language services. The speech and language pathologist has the expertise to make decisions regarding the student's communication services, but may not be the person to make all the decisions or provide all the services to eligible students with disabilities. Decisions regarding a student are based on the multidisciplinary team's evaluation. Speech and language pathologist are required to perform duties other than direct services that are essential to the appropriate management of each student.
