About The Position
Tree Of Life, a Collage Rehabilitation Partner, is a dynamic and growing organization committed to providing exceptional neurological rehabilitation to adults with brain injury. With over 40 years of experience, they develop programs to meet the diverse needs of clients with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries, including treatment for post-concussion syndrome, stroke, memory loss, neurobehavioral issues, and accident or sports-related head injuries. The company is searching for a PRN (as-needed) Speech Language Pathologist to work in their residential program located in Richmond, VA.
Requirements
- Completion of a master’s degree in speech-language pathology
- One-year experience completed with CCC (Certificate of Clinical Competence) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
- State licensure is required
- Competence in writing, planning, organization and documentation skills
- Time management skills are required
- Must have a valid driver's license and responsible driving behaviors must be maintained
- Ability to lift 50lbs
Nice To Haves
- Experience in treatment of neurologically related physical disorders in community-based settings is strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Provides treatment and evaluations of residents with speech, language, cognitive, linguistic and swallowing disorders as a result of acquired brain injury
- Focuses on developing strategies for clients in areas of memory, language expression, speech production, pragmatics, comprehension, problem solving, conflict resolution and swallowing disorders
- Performs evaluation consisting of patient/client history, and appropriate tests and measures
- Evaluates prognosis and implements a plan of care to provide interventions, conducts re-evaluation, modifies interventions based on outcomes, and develops and implements a discharge plan
