About The Position
Are you passionate about helping every student reach their full potential? Heartland AEA is seeking dedicated Speech-Language Pathologists to join our team for the 2026–27 school year . Heartland AEA supports 57 public school districts, 44 accredited nonpublic schools, and 2 charter schools across central Iowa. Our service area includes the Des Moines metro and surrounding communities, serving more than 150,000 students .
Requirements
- Appropriately licensed/certified by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners
- Master’s degree in speech pathology or communications disorders from a recognized training institution or qualified by a Statement of Professional Recognition
Nice To Haves
- Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary team members to support students’ communication needs.
- Conduct speech-language assessments that are relevant to the presenting concern and meaningful within educational and home contexts.
- Plan, implement, and monitor evidence-based interventions using a variety of service delivery models.
- Support the generalization of communication skills across settings through collaboration and consultation.
