Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current NYS License/Certification as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • Strong knowledge of speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive therapies
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
  • Must be ASHA certified.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in long-term care, sub-acute rehab, or outpatient settings preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations for speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive-communication needs
  • Develop individualized treatment plans with short- and long-term goals
  • Provide therapy sessions focused on comprehension, expressive/written language, oral motor function, word retrieval, dysphagia, cognitive function, and home exercise programs
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, patients, and families to align care goals
  • Accurately document care and maintain compliance with state regulations
  • Obtain and maintain certifications (e.g., vital stimulation) as needed
  • Guide appropriate discharge planning once goals are met or progress plateaus
