Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Speech Therapist to join the Rumford Hospital Therapy Services team! The Opportunity: This position makes a direct positive impact on Maine's Western Foothills community by providing one-on-one Speech Therapy services to patients of all ages. Rumford Region: A beautiful, rural area, the town is located in west-central Maine’s Oxford County and is surrounded by forests, mountains, rivers, and lakes. This area boasts many recreational opportunities for boating, swimming and fishing; and it’s also home to the largest waterfall east of Niagara. The business district of the town is located on “The Island” located between the Androscoggin River and the canals. The Island features restaurants and retail stores. What You’ll Do Diagnoses speech/language or swallowing disorders/delays Provides intervention/consultations for patients who demonstrate disorders/delays in speech, language, communication and/or swallowing. Provides treatment and instruction to patients according to acceptable principles and practices of Speech/Language Therapy. Follows acceptable principles/practices of the American Speech Language Hearing Association. Provides care to inpatient adult and geriatric patients, outpatient pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Assist patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities Collaborate as a member of the healthcare team for the provision of comprehensive patient care. Consistent with training and competency review, provides care to Inpatient pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Maintains training and competency as applicable in regulatory requirements such as JCAHO (if applicable), and state and federal regulations and standards. Coordinate, delegate and supervise responsibilities assigned to assistants, aides, etc. Skills and Attributes for Success Flexibility, organization and ability to function in a fast-paced environment. High level of professionalism. Ability to identify and respectfully address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families. Requirements

  • Current Maine Licensure in Speech Pathology.
  • Obtain or eligible for Clinical Competence Certificate through the American Speech Language, Hearing Association.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Flexibility, organization and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Ability to identify and respectfully address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families.
  • Ability to meet current documentation standards and policies in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
