Speech Language Pathologist Specialist (SLPS) Reports to: Clinical Manager (CM) and Middle Level Management (MLM) JOB SUMMARY: The Speech Language Pathologist Specialist organizes, conducts, develops, and provides training/education on Speech Language programs for ORTS to facilitate rehabilitation. He/she directs client participation in selected tasks and serves as a mentor, to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance, as prudent practice dictates. Also, the Speech Language Pathologist Specialist facilitates the learning of those skills and functions essential for cognition, communication and swallowing, to diminish or correct pathology, utilizing and assisting with the establishment of best practice intervention strategies. He/she directs activities to promote clients functioning at their maximum potential. A SLPS provides training/education/mentoring to peers to insure they maintain and/or improve a client’s, health while providing high quality care/training in a positive, professional, and respectful manner.
