Requirements

  • Active Ohio Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license required
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Strong communication, assessment, and clinical documentation skills
  • Compassionate, resident-first approach with a focus on achieving meaningful outcomes

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; CFY candidates welcome
  • Skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehab experience preferred (but new grads encouraged to apply)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments, diagnose communication and swallowing disorders, and create individualized treatment plans
  • Provide therapy sessions for speech, language, voice, swallowing, and cognitive-communication challenges
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and outcomes accurately in the EHR system
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and families to ensure coordinated care
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy goals, safe swallowing practices, and communication strategies
  • Maintain compliance with Ohio regulations and Kingstons standards of care
