About The Position

The Anderson School District Five is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the 2026-2027 school year. The primary goal of this position is to provide quality services for the maximum intervention of speech/language disabilities. The role involves screening, evaluating, and diagnosing speech/language disorders, determining student eligibility, and developing individualized goals and objectives. The SLP will provide services in full compliance with district, state, and federal regulations, maintain student records, and consult with various stakeholders including principals, teachers, and parents. The district offers a $3,000 signing bonus, provides supervision for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates, and offers support and mentoring for new hires. SLPs are provided with a laptop and tablets for therapy assistance and have duty-free schedules. The district currently has over 12 SLP/Ts on staff with a Lead SLP, and the average caseload is between 50-55 students.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology
  • South Carolina Certification OR Eligible for Certification
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence OR will provide supervision for Clinical Fellowship Year

Responsibilities

  • Screens, evaluates, and diagnoses speech/language disorders and determines student eligibility for enrollment in the speech/language program.
  • Develops goals, objectives, methods, and materials to assist students in achieving their highest potential.
  • Provides speech/language services in full compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintains student records in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
  • Consults with principals, clinicians, teachers, parents, and other agencies as needed.
  • Strives to maintain and improve professional competency.
  • Attends school and district staff meetings and serves on committees as required.
  • Participates in staff development programs.
  • Performs other duties as directed.
