About The Position

Provides special education services for Extended School Year.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in applicable field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
• Working knowledge of AACPS special education student database – TIENET.
• Ability to use technology, (laptops, desktops, specialized assessment and data analysis software).
• Ability to employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to the needs of diverse learners.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively work and communicate with diverse populations.
• Demonstrated proficiency with business technology applications (e.g. Video/Web Conferencing, Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint preferred).
• Speech and Language Pathologist License issued by Board of Audiologists, Hearing Aid Dispensers and Speech Language Pathologists required
• Speech and Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) Certification issued by American Speech-Hearing-Language Association (ASHA) required.
• National Provider Identifier (NPI) issued by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) required.
• Actively enrolled in Maryland Medicaid required.
• Upon receipt of NPI, immediate enrollment in Maryland Medicaid required.

Responsibilities

• Provides services for ESY as indicated on a student’s IEP.
• Develops and implements appropriate therapeutic activities according to identified ESY goals/objectives.
• Assists with implementation of collaborative activities with other professionals.
• Assists other professionals in supporting students’ communication needs.
• Maintains current and accurate data collection regarding student performance and attendance.
• Maintains effective parent/school communication.
• Prepares and distributes progress notes at the end of the session.
• Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.
