Speech Language Pathologist - Acute Care (Per Diem)

Our current Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) opportunity is with MidState Medical Center. Position Description Per diem; Minimum requirement 2 weekend days per month and 1 holiday a year. The Speech Language Pathologist independently evaluates patient’s level of function and determines, develops, and implements individualized treatment goals and plans in alignment with the patient/caregiver goals. Determines treatment strategies and delivers Speech Language Therapy services that identify, restore, and rehabilitate disorders of communication, cognition and swallowing to maximize a patient’s safety and independence. This role encompasses evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and application of speech therapy to maximize the patient's functional independence.
Requirements
- Acute care experience preferred
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college/university
- State of Connecticut License in Speech/Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence may be required depending on site
