About The Position

The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of: SUMMER 2026 CENTRAL COMMITTEE ON SPECIAL EDUCATION SPEECH LANGUAGE EVALUATOR - BILINGUAL/ DAILY

Requirements

  • Candidates must hold a New York State certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabled (bilingual extension or certification preferred but not required).
  • I t is required that candidates must attach a PDF or a screen shot of their certifications .
  • New York State Licensure and Registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist is required.
  • Candidates must have knowledge of ASHA Scope and Practice of Speech-Language Pathology, Medicaid Regulations, and Federal and State Regulations pertaining to Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Candidates must have application knowledge of various Speech-Language assessment tools.
  • Candidates must also possess strong interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence is preferred.
  • Experience completing speech-language evaluations preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing observations and consultations
  • Administering Speech-Language evaluations
  • Completing IEP Direct input
  • Writing reports required by the Committee on Special Education (CSE)
  • Assisting the CSE in the appropriate development and implementation of Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
  • Inputting Medicaid billing into Kinney
  • May be required to attend CSE meetings and consult with other professional disciplines, vendors, parents, and school personnel
  • Completing other duties deemed necessary and appropriate
