About The Position

The fellowship position includes training in interdisciplinary team assessments of adults with voice disorders and vocal cord dysfunction, adult dysphagia, alaryngeal rehabilitation as well as, speech and swallowing disorders in the head and neck cancer patient. Independent study and collaborative research is part of the training program. Didactic offerings, both at the NW Center for Voice and Swallowing, Otolaryngology and throughout the greater Oregon Health & Science University augment the Fellowship experience.

Requirements

  • Applicants should have the minimum of a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and meet all the requirements for certification except the Clinical Fellowship.

Responsibilities

  • Attending specified joint clinic(s) with the supervising faculty
  • Conducting independent general clinic(s)
  • Attending a weekend inpatient consult service on a rotating basis
  • Functioning integrally in the research activities of the Department as determined by the Fellowship Director
  • Being responsible for on clinical research project culminating in presentation at a state or national meeting
  • Functioning integrally in the teaching activities of the Department as determined by the fellowship director
