About The Position

$2500 Hiring Incentive The Speech Language Pathologis t II will provide direct patient care for assessing and treating communication (i.e. speech/language), oral motor, and feeding/swallowing disorders: administering department and program functions; supervising speech language pathologist at various levels: maintaining documentation relative to services offered: and participating in intra and interdisciplinary training programs.

Requirements

• Provide functional communication (i.e., speech/language), oral motor, and feeding/swallowing assessment or treatment, with consideration to patients and families’ needs and interest.
• Supervise graduate students, clinical fellows (concordant with level of experience and expertise).
• Maintain documentation consistent with Institute and Department expectations for all activities, as well as guidelines by The Joint Commission, CARF and ASHA.
• Participate in intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities relative to patient care (e.g., team conferences and professional training (e.g., staff development activities).
• Maintain appropriate professional affiliations for state and national licensure/certification as well as following standards set forth by the Institute and the Program.
• Participate in departmental activities and outreach activities in the community (e.g., presentations, service on committees).
• Assist supervisor in setting and implementing goals for professional growth and development.
