About The Position
We are currently looking for an experienced and compassionate Special Education Teacher to become an integral part of our instructional team. In this position, you will empower students with diverse learning profiles by providing the strategies, encouragement, and tailored support they need to develop academically and socially. You’ll collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and families to create and implement IEPs that reflect each student’s learning style, growth objectives, and support requirements. This role relies heavily on teamwork and communication, ensuring each learner receives consistent, coordinated, student-centered support across all instructional settings. As a champion for students with exceptional learning needs, you will foster a classroom environment rooted in respect, inclusion, and encouragement—helping students build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging. Additionally, you will apply proactive behavior supports and structured interventions that promote emotional regulation, skill development, and behavioral success.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field is required, while a master’s degree is preferred.
- Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to student-centered learning and inclusive education practices.
- An active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement is required for this position.
