About The Position
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate Special Education Teacher Assistant to support middle school students in an Autism Program. The role involves providing instructional, behavioral, safety, and personal care support under the direction of a Lead Teacher to help students achieve IEP goals in a structured learning environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred
- Must meet Virginia Paraprofessional requirements
- Experience with Autism or Special Education preferred
- Strong communication, patience, and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to lift, bend, and respond quickly for student safety
Responsibilities
- Support individualized instruction and IEP-based activities
- Implement positive behavior strategies and follow BIPs
- Supervise students across classrooms and school settings
- Assist with data collection and progress tracking
- Provide personal care support (ADLs) as needed
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff
