About The Position
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Lead Teacher for a behavior self-contained classroom in an elementary school setting. The ideal candidate excels in structured environments and supports young learners with significant behavioral and emotional needs.
Requirements
- Active Virginia Teaching License with ECSE endorsement
- Experience in behavior self-contained or applied behavioral settings
- Training in CPI, PCM, ABA , or similar
- Bachelor’s in Special Education (Master’s preferred)
- Strong classroom leadership and crisis management skills
- Ability to meet physical demands and intervene for student safety
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a behavior self-contained ECSE classroom
- Supervise paraprofessionals; collaborate with OT, PT, and SLP
- Develop and implement IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Apply ABA-based and evidence-based behavior strategies
- Deliver adapted instruction focused on communication and social-emotional skills
- Create a structured, sensory-friendly classroom environment
- Track and document academic and behavioral progress
