About The Position

St. Pius X Catholic School is seeking a full-time teacher. The Classroom Teacher plans, guides, and evaluates students' learning process. The Catholic school teacher will adhere to the NCEA Code of Ethics for the Catholic school teacher, which specifies the attitude and the practice of the teacher in relation to the student, the parent, the community, and the profession. Ministerial Character: The Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church (“the Diocese”) entrusted to him. In a unique and visible way, he makes Christ's mission present and enduring as the Shepherd of the Christian Community. In order to fulfill his mission, the Diocesan Bishop employs suitable, chosen collaborators, who are clerics, religious, and lay people. He shares with them the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them. Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps to extend the ministry of the Diocesan Bishop in particular ways as outlined in the job duties and responsibilities. Therefore, this position is closely connected to and assists the Diocesan Bishop in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the church. As an integral part of ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church Continuously grow in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school. Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church. Plan for instruction with logically sequenced objectives based on the adopted curriculum and submit plans according to the school policies. Provide appropriate material and resources for students to engage in learning. Use effective instructional methods and models according to professional standard practice. Use varied assessment tools to perform both formative and summative assessments. Provide instruction and assessment for understanding. Maintained current and accurate records according to school policies. Practice positive, consistent discipline in the management of the classroom. Communicate with parents regarding academic, behavioral, and safety concerns. Maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to students, parents, and staff. Non-Catholic teachers are required to have a knowledge of the Catholic faith and support the goals of Catholic tradition in education.
