About The Position

The Specimen Processor prepares samples received at the Valley Lab for laboratory testing. The Specimen Processor also performs tasks such as matching patient information, data entry, and aliquoting.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• None - see Preferred Qualifications
• Driving is a required part of this role - applicants must be 21+ years old and hold an active Utah Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Prepares specimens for laboratory testing and analysis including managing specimen containers, verifying patient identifiers on the sample and test request forms, entering data into the lab information system, and ensuring correct specimen labeling
• Prepares aliquots and delivers specimens for testing
• Resolves and documents any problems relating to specimen samples, collection, and processing
• Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times
