About The Position

As the Specification & Market Development Manager, you will lead the creation, execution, and ongoing refinement of the Americas specification program. Your work will directly impact sales performance by generating high‑value specifications with architects, designers, engineers, and contractors across commercial and industrial markets. You will collaborate closely with D&D Technologies, ASSA ABLOY’s Door Security Solutions (DSS), and Opening Studios—leveraging powerful networks, platforms, and tools to drive measurable, specification‑to‑sales outcomes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in technical or architectural building product sales.
  • Strong background in specifications within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency with architectural tools (SolidWorks, CAD, Revit, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer engagement skills.
  • Experience leading specification or architectural sales teams.
  • Mechanical aptitude and advanced Microsoft application skills

Nice To Haves

  • CSI experience/certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the end‑to‑end specification process to meet long‑term sales objectives.
  • Build a collaborative CRM/Dynamics pipeline with DSS to ensure transparent tracking of specs and project conversions.
  • Lead architect/specifier engagement using tools such as Mapalytics, Sweets, and BIM Objects.
  • Develop and maintain product data, pricing, and specification materials across digital platforms.
  • Partner with DSS and Opening Studios to drive architectural lead generation.
  • Work cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Product Development.
  • Coordinate globally to identify emerging product and market opportunities.
  • Track large‑scale commercial projects from design through installation.
  • Support the sales team in closing spec-driven opportunities.
  • Capture competitive intelligence and translate insights into strategy.
  • Deliver training to internal teams and key customers.
  • Create and present accredited courses (AIA, AEC Daily), and manage continuing education programs.
  • Develop targeted communications for the architectural community.
  • Maintain listings, specs, and product data on CADdetails, SpecTRAK, and related platforms.
