About The Position

Sentara is hiring a Full-time Pharmacy Technician I for our Specialty Pharmacy Case Management team at Norfolk General Hospital $5,000 Sign-on Bonus for Qualified Candidates! Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, VA Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk) Shift: Rotating Days shift Hours: 8am-4:30pm / 8:30am-5pm / 9:30am-6pm The Specialty Pharmacy Tech performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. This position is in a call center/fulfillment environment. Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Preferred)
  • Previous Specialty Pharmacy Experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities
