About The Position

The Yoga Instructor provides safe, engaging, and inclusive Yoga instruction at the Malley Recreation Center, Englewood Recreation Center, and any other contracted locations. This role demonstrates safe and effective exercises for both general and special populations, performs exercises for all major muscle groups and can recognize contraindicated exercises and adapt the intensity and exercises to meet the needs of participants. Must be personable; innovative and creative; flexible and versatile; team-oriented; adaptable to fast-paced, changing environments; have strong human relations and communication skills; and be customer service oriented. Instructors must be able to administer first aid and CPR in the event of an accident.

Requirements

• Must hold a current Yoga Certification (preferred minimum 200+ Hour Cert).
• Current CPR/AED certification or willing to obtain upon hiring.

Responsibilities

• Prepares appropriate music and other materials for class.
• Develops class content appropriate to the class description and level.
• Welcomes and encourages all participants to work at their own pace.
• Adapts class format to meet the needs of clientele.
• Reports all class, facility, and equipment concerns to Recreation Supervisor.
• Finds own substitute to cover absences from list of approved substitutes.
• Attends all necessary staff meetings and trainings. When requested, attends special events to promote the fitness department.
• Checks class rosters and accurately records participant attendance.
• Must be professional, responsible and punctual.
