Requirements

  • Must possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests and team members.

  • Very good knife handling skills.
  • Must have prior cooking experience as well as a proven track record demonstrating sound judgment and the ability to perform well under pressure.

  • Is responsible for the successful operation of the kitchen to which they are assigned.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all food is prepared in a timely manner.
  • Is always clean and neat, in proper uniform, including nametag and slip resistant shoes.
  • Reports to work on time; signs and swipes in properly.
  • Possesses complete knowledge of all procedures related to the job.
  • Ensures that all guests are treated in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
  • Must be able to understand and communicate Material Safety Data Sheets to all team members.
  • Supports all departments with any requests or assistance.
  • Ability to communicate with Team members and guests.

  • Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays.
  • Regularly required to see, talk or hear; stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention, performing all job duties in the safest possible manner, and immediately notifying the supervisor and completing an accident report if a personal accident does occur.
  • Possesses complete knowledge of all procedures related to the job.
  • Coordinates training of all team members in the proper performance of all job duties and thereafter ensures that all guests are treated in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
  • Assists in the overall food production and presentation, according to recipes and specifications
  • Assists in training new team members.
  • Work grill, sauté, & expediter stations.
  • Complete tasks using various cooking methods and techniques/ very good knife handling skills.
  • Utilize of the Five Mother Sauces.
  • Supervises line staff to ensure quality.
  • Works to ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen at all times.
  • Handles any guest's complaints or problems in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Working with front of the house supervisors to ensure proper communication to our back line supervisors.
  • Communicates any problems or concerns to the Sous Chef or Room Chef.
  • Ability to follow recipes and daily planning sheets.
  • Assist supervisor with putting daily order together when needed.
  • Help to orient new team members.
  • Assist less experienced cooks with understanding recipes and work sheets as necessary.
  • Assist with storeroom orders when necessary.
  • Responsible for the efficient operation of the kitchen line to which they are assigned.
  • Keeps work area clean.
  • Ensures thorough communication between shifts.
  • Remains up to date on all Departmental Policies and Procedures.
  • Understands that schedules are subject to change.
  • Performs other duties specified or assigned.
  • Sets high standards by complying with all departmental rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures that all Team Members are treated in a fair and consistent manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.
