About The Position

The Specialty Cook is responsible for seasoning and cooking food according to recipes and instructions, focusing on a wide array of international cuisines. This role involves presenting dishes in an exhibition style and preparing them to order. The cook is expected to go above and beyond to create a unique, healthy, and delicious user experience through thoughtfully prepared plates and dishes.

Requirements

  • Passion for customer service and engagement
  • Ability to anticipate guests' needs
  • Maintain a positive attitude, even in times of pressure and change
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • 3+ years of experience in a scratch-cooking culinary position
  • Experience in multiple, high-volume service platforms (e.g. Hotel, Fine Dining, Banquet (catering), Corporate Dining)
  • Practical experience in International Cuisines
  • Hospitality focused
  • Highly dependable, reliable, and always on time
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to utilize team lift, transportation carts, and any other means of assistance when dealing with heavy loads
  • Ability to come to work properly dressed and in according to the dress code
  • Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods

Responsibilities

  • Season and cook food following recipes and instructions from a wide array of international cuisines, presenting them in an exhibition style and to order

  • Willing to assist in all areas of the cafe and adapt to operational needs
  • Lead by example through the daily practice and adherence of company policies/procedures, HACCP, and Cleaning Procedures
  • Follow and maintain tasks and production to deliver meals on time
  • Must comply with all ServSafe and HACCP programs and standards
  • Actively follow worker-safety guidelines and policies to mitigate risk of injury
  • Demonstrates a high-level of self-awareness
  • Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment
  • Following safety protocols, maintaining environmental responsibility, and upholding quality standards in all tasks
  • Actively participate in HSEQ training and report any potential hazards or compliance concerns
