About The Position

Provide nursing service and expertise to patients, incorporating the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient’s needs. Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm Pay based on experience starting at $25.08

Requirements

• ADN (Required)
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire. - Sarah Bush Lincoln
• RN-Registered Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation

Responsibilities

• Answers phone calls from patients, hospitals, extended care facilities, pharmacies and physician offices and directs the information to the appropriate provider as needed.
• Assists the providers by performing patient calls regarding test results and follow-up care as instructed by provider.
• Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation. Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data.
• Coordinates follow up care including scheduling of tests and referrals as ordered by the physician in a timely and accurate manner.
• Documents appropriately and concisely assessment, care provided, and data collection in the medical record.
• Ensures that pre-certification of tests/ consults is obtained.
• Implements patient care orders in a timely/accurate manner.
• Maintains clinical skills/demonstrates competency via continuing education as required by the state of Ilinois.
• Performs and documents laboratory duties which may include phlebotomy, specimen collection and performance of routine basic waived testing.
• Prepares patients for exams by taking vitals and other assessments necessary prior to providers exam. Assists providers with patient exams/ treatments/ procedures.
• Submits prescriptions and refills to the pharmacy ordered by the physician in a timely and accurate manner.
• Teaches patients and family members about the plan of care and documents education. Provides educational handouts.
