About The Position
The Chattanooga Heart Institute offers the most comprehensive cardiac care available in this region. Founded in 1976, we now have six offices in Tennessee and one in Georgia. Our practice is made up of 29 board-certified cardiologists and three cardiothoracic surgeons. We merged with CHI Memorial Health Care System in 2011 which is part of CommonSpirit Health. CommonSpirit has more than 700 care sites across the U.S. and is committed to building healthy communities. Job Summary: Coordinate qualify patient care under the supervision of the provider(s).
Requirements
- BSN or AS in Nursing
- Valid Tennessee RN License
- BLS Certification
- One year in a clinical nursing setting
Nice To Haves
- Cardiology experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient, collect appropriate data, and perform testing to prepare patient for physician visit.
- Maintain patient flow through the clinic.
- Forward tests results and documentation to physician for review; execute orders as received.
- Notify patient of test results and ensure appropriate follow up per protocol.
- Timely response of all patient care inquiries.
- Complete patient refills as requested by both patient and pharmacy, ensuring appropriate labs are ordered per protocol.
- Patient and family/caregiver education.
