About The Position

Overview: Responsible for the processing of Title Insurance Commitments/Policies and Post Closing Audits based on product, underwriter, state specification, ensuring adherence to Agency/Underwriter guidelines. Primary Responsibilities: Preparation and/or revision of the preliminary title report and/or final title policy, including, but not limited to the timely completion of post closing audits. Maintain effective communication with all necessary parties involved in the Title Commitment process, from internal customers, Closing Agents/Attorneys and co-workers to ensure a seamless, timely delivery of the preliminary title commitment and/or final title policy. Ensures all revisions, updates, correspondence, etc. are maintained daily. Work alongside Title Examiners in the completion of Deposits, Audits, Post Closing follow up, Bankruptcy and Lien Searches, as well as the preparation of the Insured Closing Letter and Underwriter Rate Calculations. Immediately notifies all necessary parties of irregularities relative to the preliminary title report and/or final title policy. Provide operational knowledge and support to ensure adherence to all underwriting and regulatory requirements and guidelines. Perform other administrative duties supporting the Agency including but not limited to: aid in the monitoring of phones, door and email, filing, preparing and mailing preliminary title commitments and/or final title policies and any revisions as they relate to both, Q-C-ing of the preliminary title policy, logging and tracking. Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies. Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Complete other related duties as assigned. Scope of Responsibilities: Work closely with both Internal and External Customers such as co-workers, Loan Officers/Processors, Underwriters and Closing Agents/Attorneys. In-depth knowledge of closing and title policy requirements and fees. Supervisory/ Managerial Responsibilities: Not Applicable.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or two years equivalent work experience.
  • One year prior real estate experience.
  • Good PC skills with strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Email Platform and Adobe.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on information provided.
  • Knowledge of Agency, Underwriter and Lender Requirements.
  • Versatility and flexibility working within an ever changing fast paced mortgage environment.
  • Adapting to new policies and procedures to improve processes and workflow.
  • Ability to function independently within time constraints.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Prioritization of daily workload.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
