About The Position

The Specialist I, Vendor Management position is responsible for building and maintaining vendor relationships, monitoring vendor performance against Key Performance Indicator (KPI) target levels, and ensuring vendor compliance with established standards. This role involves owning the supply chain relationship with vendors supplying inventory items and/or professional services, participating in contract reviews, and coordinating contract renewals and changes. The specialist will also negotiate pricing, identify cost savings opportunities, lead vendor management reviews, and work with supply planners to mitigate service disruptions. Additionally, the role supports vendor selection, setup processes, and ensures adherence to procurement procedures, manages sourcing rules, and collaborates with the off-site buyer team on purchase order execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working in Supply Chain, manufacturing and/or vendor management environments
  • Strong mathematic and analytical skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite is required, with emphasis on Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write and present reports and recommendations
  • Experience in negotiation
  • Experience in contract management

Responsibilities

  • Owns the supply chain relationship with the vendors who supply inventory items and/or professional services
  • Participates in contract reviews and coordinates contract renewals, changes/addendums with appropriate internal teams
  • Negotiates pricing, improved lead times, and identifies opportunities for cost savings and avoidance
  • Leads vendor management reviews detailing vendor performance, spend, price changes and opportunities for improvement
  • Works with Supply Planners to mitigate impact from vendor service disruptions
  • Partners with Marketing team to support vendor selection and setup process
  • Establish standards and drive vendors to adhere to procurement procedures
  • Support RFQ/RFI initiatives
  • Manages the sourcing and item set up process and maintains vendor sourcing rules, sourcing assignments, and lead times
  • Collaborate with the off-site buyer team on PO execution, ensure KPI targets are met, and vendor updates
