About The Position

Our team is seeking a proactive and confident individual with a background in global trade to join our team as a Specialist, Global Trade-Americas Customs. This hybrid role based in Winston-Salem, NC establishes the foundation for our company's import processes, ensuring compliance with international trade policies. The Specialist performs and supports import tactical operations and is encouraged to take on leadership roles within the Customs discipline across the SBU, Collins Aerospace, and RTX cross-company initiatives. For an employee’s development, U.S. based candidates will be highly encouraged to sit for Licensed Customs Exam within two years of employment, if not licensed.

Requirements

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
  • Experience managing U.S. import compliance activities, including but not limited to U.S. Customs requirements, commercial import documentation, freight forwarder coordination, Mexico and Canada import regulations, and free trade agreement (FTA) compliance
  • Experience with computer tools such as Office 365

  • Experience utilizing SAP/GTS, Smartsheet, Microsoft Access, and other web-based tools to support trade compliance activities
  • Experience with Collins/RTX current trade compliance related processes (classifications, authorizations, logging, compliant transfer modes, record keeping, etc.) and Collins specific GT related systems (GTS, OCR, MKDenial, xClass, TEXPORT)

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily tactical import entry process and import initiatives across Interiors Collins Aerospace Sites, in all areas of Customs Compliance
  • Assist with strategic program management of customs initiatives across sites ensuring alignment with Collins Aerospace.
  • Support implementation and enhance Import compliance programs at the site level.
  • Drive collection of import data and analysis for monthly Dashboard metrics.
  • Develop, support, implement customs related automation initiatives.
  • Perform import Declaration auditing.
  • Support in various U.S. Customs programs such as Reconciliation, FTZ, FDA, and CTPAT.
  • Assist Import team and Import Manager on projects, tactical activities, strategic activities, duty mitigation, training, and other import activities, as needed.
  • Remain up to date on current Global Trade Related Geopolitical events, Such as Section Tariffs, Anti-dumping & Countervailing Duties, etc.
  • Support business travel up to 20% of the time.
